Denver Day Hikers is a group of folks who love the Colorado outdoors. Although we primarily hike, we also love other outdoor activities—from downtown walking tours to snowshoeing to rafting. Join the group to have access to all our hikes and meet some super awesome people in the process! Our hikes vary from in the mountains to around the Metro area. Although we occasionally do some easier hikes, most of our outings are moderate to strenuous. And occasionally, we may plan out-of-town excursions …

We've been posting more and more hikes as 'invite only' or off meetup based on troubles we've had with inexperienced or unreliable hikers. This is an invitation only group for the regulars who've established themselves as capable hikers and friends. Please be aware of your limitations though, hikes on this site will be more advanced-particularly those posted by Matt or Zach. Expect 13ers and 14ers in the summer, long hikes to alpine lakes, and challenging snowshoes in the winter. Maybe some week …

… There are other meetup groups for beginner or occasional hikers and there are groups that are far more aggressive in their climbs or distance. Our typical hikes are 6 to 15 miles in length and around 1000 to 3500 feet in elevation gain at an intermediate pace. Snowshoe trips are a bit shorter due to shorter daylight, as well as being a bit more strenuous. If you are interested in becoming an organizer, we'd be very glad you have you on board. It's easier than you may think. Please contact Dave …

Anyone can use the message board to post appropriate information or suggestions about trips for everyone to see and reply to.
