We are a hiking club in the Washington, DC area which adds to the pleasure of a sociable hike the discovery of the natural and historical aspects of the wayside along the trails we tread. While benefiting from an invigorating hike, time is taken for hike leaders - as well as fellow hikers - to share their knowledge of the flora, fauna, geology, and history of the area with the group.

What better discovery to have during an activity than "YOU"!! I started this group because hiking in remote areas brings focus to the way we experience our beautiful world and ourselves. But don't cancel your gym membership -- we are going to need it so we can hike a little farther and give ourselves a better reason to stay healthy and fit.

This is a group for any one interested in recreational walking and hiking. All skill levels are welcome.
