Hello, This group is designed for hikers in the Baltimore region who share an infatuation with the outdoors/mountains/trails, etc. It is made specifically for intermediate to experienced hikers. However, often times because of the location of Baltimore, big mountains are inaccessible so we do a lot of local hikes which are easy and all are welcome to join. I've been hiking and meeting people in central Maryland, DC and Virginia. Travelling to meet with people or to the trail head have been a challenge for me and I think, for many others who live in the northern part of Maryland. I am organizing this meetup as a mean to meet with people in the area who have the love for hiking and being active. We can have our own events, hiking local parks or we can carpool to join other groups. Beside hiking, we can have plans for travel, camping or skiing. …
This is a group for hikers of all levels. We have novice hikes for beginners, which are paced for everyone's needs, under 3 miles, and easy terrain. We also have weekly hikes that are moderate or strenuous for more experienced hikers. The hikes will be labeled as "easy" (mainly flat, walking), "moderate" (a mix of some hills and flat trail) or "strenuous/difficult" (steep hills or rock scrambling).
